Professor Callahan's research lab trains students to conduct high quality qualitative research using Reflexive Thematic Analysis methodology. His current project focuses on the felt experience of shame in educational settings and events that triggered shame. We then explore the ways in which shame was experienced and responded to.

Undergraduate research assistants are trained in every step of conducting qualitative research: developing and refining research questions, coding and theme development, journaling and analytic memos, and writing for publication in academic journals. Students must commit to attending weekly in-person lab meetings with the team as well as 2-3 hours per week or more to spend on research related tasks.

If you have interest in becoming a research assistant, please contact Dr. Callahan via email.
