Biography
Dr. Brassington was born in Sydney, Australia. He came to the United States at age 16 to attend university on a tennis scholarship. After earing a bachelor's degree in humanities, he studied clinical, health, and performance psychology in graduate school and beyond. He has co-authored (including with SSU students) 26 journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Brassington's publications appear in such journals as the Journal of American Medical Association, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, and Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. He has presented (including with SSU students) more than 50 research conferences symposia, papers, and posters. Dr. Brassington works to promote community health, happiness, and compassion through his teaching, research, and clinical work. He lives with his wife and teenage son just a "stone's throw" away from the SSU campus. You can see him and his family walking around the beautiful SSU campus almost every day of the week.
